We’ve compiled some of the more notable partnerships that have taken place in the United States for the month of June 2019
- Microsoft x Oracle
Microsoft and Oracle signed a partnership deal that would link their respective cloud computing services, Microsoft Azure and Oracle Cloud. The service offered by the partnership will enhance customer experiences and cater to the growing demand for cloud services. The partnership will also give both companies the edge as they compete against Amazon who controls 30% of the global cloud business market.
- Honeywell x Denso
Multinational conglomerate Honeywell is partnering with components manufacturer Denso on a project to develop hybrid and fully electrical propulsion systems for Urban Air Mobility, a proposed series of automated air transportation services that represents part of the transportation landscape of the future.
- Northrop Grumman x Raytheon
Raytheon is bringing in Northrop Grumman as a partner to assist in the development of a new air-breathing hypersonic cruise missile. Northrop Grumman will serve as the scramjet combustor provider for Raytheon. The weapon will be tested in the near future under a U.S. Air Force and Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) contract.
- AMD x Samsung
A strategic multiyear partnership was forged between AMD and Samsung Electronics. In the deal, AMD will license its Radeon graphics technology to Samsung for use in its future mobile technology and in return, Samsung will pay license fees and royalties. The deal will allow AMD to diversify its market and accelerate innovation in mobile graphics technology.
- Simon Property Group x Allied eSports x Niantic
To combat the declining popularity of shopping malls, Simon Property Group, the largest owner of malls in America is turning to eSports. Partnering with entertainment company Allied eSports and Niantic, Simon is investing $5 million in a new strategy that will turn malls into hubs for gaming. Allied Sports will be building lounges in the malls for competitive gaming events while Niantic was offered the use of the mall as an in-game location for its new augmented reality game, Harry Potter: Wizards Unite. In addition to that, a new eSports competition festival called The Simon Cup with regional tournaments in various locations will be launched.
- Eko x Bullitt
Interactive entertainment company eko is partnering with Bullitt, a filmmakers collective and creative studio to produce both scripted and unscripted interactive series. Using new interactive technology, the new projects will allow audiences to make choices that influence the story. The jointly produced first green-lit show titled “Scroll Wheel of Time” is expected to be released sometime in 2020.
- Sony Pictures Television and Hivemind x Square Enix
Sony Pictures Television announced its partnership with developer Square Enix and production company Hivemind to possibly create a live-action TV adaption of the popular Final Fantasy series. The show is reportedly an original story set in the world of Eorzea, based on Final Fantasy XIV and will see new and familiar characters.
- Ubisoft x Acer
In one of the largest and most ambitious partnerships for popular Ubisoft game, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six: Siege, the company is bringing in Acer’s Predator brand as the official PC and monitor for Rainbow Six’s Pro League and Majors. In the eSport events, Acer will offer competing teams with high-end Predator desktops, laptops, and monitors. Other unique activities and giveaways will also be offered to the fans.
- High School Esports League (HSEL) x MAINGEAR x Razor
The High School Esports League (HSEL), a gaming organization dedicated to organizing and promoting high school esports leagues across the nation is partnering with PC builder MAINGEAR and Razer to offer 6 high-performance computers and additional components to the first 250 schools who sign up for the HSEL 3 Year Esports Program. HSEL is also offering a League Pro pass to schools who already have the esports equipment. In any case, schools can get unlimited slots for every HSEL season.

- Mood33 x Caliva
Cannabis-infused beverage creator mood33 entered into a distribution partnership with cannabis dispensary and cultivation company Caliva. The partnership will greatly expand mood33’s reach across the state of California.
- Endoca x Tough Mudder
Cannabis products producer Endoca signed an agreement with Tough Mudder to be its official CBD partner. As participants compete in Tough Mudder’s events, Endoca will be offering CBD samples and education.
- IBM x Cloudera
Multinational information technology company IBM is partnering with software company Cloudera to develop programs to bring advanced data and AI solutions to more organizations across the expansive Apache Hadoop ecosystem.
- Atari x Walmart x Gamestop
Atari has entered into distribution agreements with GameStop, and Walmart for its new Atari VCS gaming system. The new console borrows from both traditional and modern designs and can support both classic and new games. There are 3 designs that can now be pre-ordered with a retro Black Walnut design coming directly Atari, an all-Black Onyx design from GameStop and a Kevlar Gold design when ordering from Walmart.

- Illinois Corn Growers Association (ICGA) x National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) x University of Illinois
The Illinois Corn Growers Association (ICGA) in cooperation with the University of Illinois will recruit 100 farmers from around the state in a research program. The program will make use of datasets provided by NASA to uncover agricultural inefficiencies, look for new areas to farm and improve the overall management of farms.
- Thinkful x University of San Diego
Thinkful, a technology education company is partnering with the University of San Diego to bring web development and technology-related courses with the goal of helping students develop and enhance tech-related skills and knowledge for a career in the technology sector.
- Digital Asset x Amazon Web Services (AWS)
Blockchain software firm Digital Asset is partnering with Amazon and its cloud storage engine, Amazon Web Services (AWS) Aurora to enhance the interoperability of Digital Asset’s open-source smart contract Digital Asset Modeling Language (DAML) language. The partnership will allow DAML to support more blockchain networks.
- Brand USA x McGilivray Freeman Films x Expedia
Brand USA will once again partner with McGilivray Freeman Films and Expedia to work together on the film “Into America’s Wild”(working title) scheduled for release in IMAX in February 2020. The film will take audiences on a journey across the United States showcasing the little known parts of the country.
- Centrica Business Solutions x United States’ Department Of Energy National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL)
Energy solutions company Centrica Business Solutions is partnering with the United States’ Department Of Energy National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) to research and develop hybrid battery storage technology.
- Starbucks x Born This Way Foundation
To celebrate Pride Month, Starbucks is collaborating with the Born This Way Foundation to raise money for the LGBTQIA+ community. The Starbucks Foundation will match any donations up to $250,000 made to the Born This Way Foundation. Pride Month is celebrated to recognize the LGBTQIA+ identify, the civil victories won by the community and to shed light on the abuse LGBTQIA+ individuals have suffered. The month of June is selected to commemorate the Stonewall Riots, a significant event in 1968 that paved the way for the gay liberation movement and the fight LGBTQIA+ rights.
- RSM US x UCLA Anderson Forecast
Accounting firm RSM US partnered with UCLA Anderson Forecast to provide support for Forecast conferences, publications, research and maintaining connections to the business community. RSM US stands to get exposure to Forecast’s quarterly report and networking opportunities. UCLA Anderson has a reputation for being among the most accurate and unbiased economic forecasts.
- BMW Group x ANSYS
The technology for autonomous or self-driving vehicles still has a long way to go. A multi-year partnership between automobile company BMW and engineering simulation company ANSYS hopes to speed things up by creating the industry’s first holistic simulation toolchain for developing autonomous vehicle technology. The new technology is expected to go into the development of the new BMW iNEXT vehicle set to be launched in 2021.
- FCA US x Aurora
Fiat Chrysler Automobiles and engineering and machine learning company Aurora signed a memorandum of understanding to lay the groundwork for a partnership to develop and deploy self-driving commercial vehicles. In the partnership, FCA plans to integrate the Aurora Driver self-driving platform into its vehicles.
- Circulate Capital x USAID
The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) announced a partnership with investment firm Circulate Capital to reduce pollution in the oceans. As Circulate Capital invests in a portfolio of businesses and infrastructure that contribute to the reduction of pollution in the ocean in South and Southeast Asia, USAID will guarantee up to $35 million dollars of loans made by Circulate Capital. In addition to that, 50% of the total investments covered by USAID’s guarantee will be used for loans in Indonesia, The Philippines, Vietnam, and Sri Lanka.
- HOVER x Mosaic
Digital home renovation company HOVER is partnering with financing company Mosaic who will integrate its system into the HOVER platform to offer customers access to financing for home remodeling projects. HOVER is a startup that allows customers to transforms smartphone photos of any home to a fully measured, customizable 3D model for better estimation and visualization of what the final product will look like.
- Famous Dave’s x Beyond Meat
Famous Dave’s, a popular restaurant chain is working with Beyond Meat to test a new plant-based protein menu. The new menu will be available from mid-August in 5 restaurants with 4 in Colorado and 1 in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
- OmniSci x Core Scientific
OmniSci, the pioneer in GPU-accelerated analytics announced a partnership with Core Scientific, an AI and Blockchain infrastructure and software solutions company. The partnership aims to improve the speed and performance of OmniSci platforms for users with high workloads while decreasing costs.
- Utah Department of Transportation x Panasonic
The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) and Panasonic are collaborating on an ambitious project to build an advanced transportation data network. This project represents the states effort to reduce fatalities on the roads and prepare the transportation landscape for the future.
- Chicago Ideas x Xfinity and the Chicago Park District
Platforms in the Park, a city-wide initiative by Chicago Ideas in partnership with Xfinity and the Chicago Park District to empower, connect, inspire, and activate all of Chicago through local, community-led experiences. The event will run from June until August in several parks around the city of Chicago.
- Moneygram x Ripple
MoneyGram, a global money transfer company, is entering into a partnership with Ripple (XRP), the provider of enterprise blockchain solutions for cross-border payments. The partnership will enable Moneygram to take advantage of Ripple’s xRapid Product as part of its global payment process while Ripple made a $30 million investment in Moneygram’s equity.
